My name is Leah Willis
I am a seasoned professional with over 23 years of dedicated service in the U.S. Army, specializing in logistics. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, I immigrated to the United States and joined the military. I have been stationed in numerous places where Germany, Colorado, and Northern Virgina are at the top of my most memorable places to live and work. I have a daughter who is a college student who is currently studying to become a psychotherapist. I enjoy traveling, reading, walking the trails and riding my peloton bike. Now I am at the point in my career where I am focusing on my next step in my career.

Professional Goals
Short-Term Goals
Currently my short-term goal includes transitioning to become a Sergeants Major Academy instructor at the Noncommissioned Officer Center of Excellence after completing my degree from Syracuse University in Instructional, Design, Development, and Evaluation. This field has brought a new perspective to my professional journey, blending my extensive military experience with innovative educational practices to create meaningful and impactful learning experiences. Additionally, I would like to become a GS instructor at the Sergeants Major Academy while working as an adjunct professor teaching undergraduate students in the logistics field.
Long-Term Goals
My long-term professional goal is to transition from the military and become a recognized leader and innovator in the field of instructional design, specializing in integrating advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and adaptive learning systems to create transformative, learner-centered experiences for diverse educational and professional environments. Additionally, I would like to finish my doctorate in the field of curriculum and instruction to develop curriculum for the Sergeants Major Academy.
